Service Information: Hydraulic fluid as per specification 345.0

General

Vehicles which have been delivered with hydraulic fluid as per specification 345.0 (Pentosin CHF 11S) may only be filled with hydraulic fluid as per specification 345.0 (Pentosin CHF 11S).

 Hydraulic fluid as per specification 345.0 (Pentosin CHF 11S) must not be mixed with DOT 4/5 brake fluid or used as a substitute for DOT 4/5 brake fluid otherwise failure of the hydraulic systems in the vehicle may occur.

To avoid confusion,

 the hydraulic reservoir in the vehicle has been labeled "PENTOSIN FUEL ONLY" ,

 the screw cap of the hydraulic reservoir has been kept green (RAL 6001), has a thread reduced by approx. 2 mm and is also labeled: "PENTOSIN FUEL ONLY".

 All other components which come into contact with hydraulic fluid as per specification 345.0 (Pentosin CHF 11S) are designed so they cannot be used in systems with DOT 4/5 brake fluid, e.g. modified connections, color identification (green RAL 6001).

Use of brake bleeder units and hydraulic bleeder units

Due to recent events we would like to point out that the bleeder units for DOT 4/5 brake fluid and their accessories must not be used for or mixed up with hydraulic fluid as per specification 345.0 (Pentosin CHF 11S).

 If hydraulic fluid as per specification 345.0 (Pentosin CHF 11S) is mixed with DOT 4/5 brake fluid, this leads to failure of the bleeder unit.

Likewise accessories supplied with the approved bleeder units must remain with the bleeder units and must not be modified or mixed up.

So as to avoid confusion, we recommend storing the individual bleeder units separately and a corresponding, additional identification of the accessories.
