Function requirements for torque coordination, general points
Circuit 87 (Engine management ON)
Engine running.
Torque coordination, general
The torque interface in the CDI control unit (N3/28) coordinates and prioritizes (according to drivability and defined priority) the requirements of all systems that make an engine torque request. It also determines how dynamically each request is to be implemented.
The following systems and functions can request engine torque from the CDI control unit:
Maximum torque limitation
Rpm limitation
TEMPOMAT, via Electronic Stability Program (ESP) control unit (N30/4) (with code MS1 (TEMPOMAT))
Electronic Stability Program ESP®
Driver over the accelerator pedal module (B37/4)
Function sequence for torque coordination
Depending on the dynamics of the requests, the CDI control unit varies the engine torque by:
Extending or shortening the injection period of the fuel injectors (Y76)
Lifting or lowering the fuel pressure in the rail via the quantity control valve (Y94)
