Remove/install heater housing

Remove/Install

Risk of injury caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts

Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.

Deburr repair panels.

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Close shutoff valves for feed and return lines of heater

 See Operator's Manual

Open front flap

 See Operator's Manual

Remove spare wheel

 See Operator's Manual

Remove dust filter (1).

 Installation: Check dust filter (1) for contamination, clean or replace if necessary.



Replace heating/ventilation dust filter

Remove lower part of heater housing (2)

Expose electric wiring harnesses (6) and remove connectors from fuse box of vehicle

 Installation: Ensure that electric wiring harnesses (6) are routed properly.

Clamp off hot water hoses (5) using pinch-off pliers

 Attach pinch-off pliers outside of heater housing (4).



Loosen hose clamps and remove hot water hoses (5) from heater housing (4)

 Collect coolant which flows out in a suitable vessel.

 Installation: Check hot water hoses (5), replace if necessary.

Remove bolts (3)

 Hold the heater housing (4) while doing so.

Slightly lift rear section of heater housing (4) and pull out

 Two rubber mounts are installed at the rear wall of the heater housing (4). These are inserted into two guide bearing plates in the vertical position when the heater housing (4) is installed.

 Installation: Check rubber mounts and replace if necessary.

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near engine

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Run engine

Switch on driver area ventilation and set to highest heat output

 Refer to the Webasto operating instructions.

Top up with coolant



Engine cooling system - check fluid level, adjust to correct level. Inspect anticorrosion/antifreeze protection, adjust to correct concentration
