Detach left noise insulation in area of longitudinal member reinforcement (1)

Detach right noise insulation in area of longitudinal member reinforcement (1)

Slacken bolts (2) and lower side member reinforcement (1) at front

Loosen boots (3) from steering gear and push upward

Check whether marking on primary shaft on steering gear and assembly slot of universal joint (4) are flush

If the assembly slot has moved.



Mark installation position of universal joint (4) relative to primary shaft.

Remove universal joint (4) on lower steering shaft from steering gear

 Installation: The contact surface for bolt and nut on universal joint (4) must be free of grease. Note marking or identification.

 Fit bolt/nut, universal/constant velocity joint

Detach compressed air lines (5) from both suspension struts

Unhook linkage for valves on cab air suspension on cab mounting (11)

Remove tilt cylinder (8) from cab mounting (11 or 12)

Adjust jib length of cab assembly cradle to fit the roof height



Fold back floor mats on driver and passenger sides

Remove caps (6) from cab floor on driver and passenger sides and unscrew bolts (7)

Lift cab


When lifting, ensure that cab does not catch on chassis components.
Otherwise damage can occur.

 Installation: Align cab above cab mounting (11 or 12) and only lower until bolts (7, 9 and 10) can be positioned and tightened. Then lower completely.
