Check float (2) for surface damage (arrow)

Weigh float (2) and compare with specified value

If the specified weight is exceeded, the function of the retarder is impaired. If the actual weight deviates from the specified weight, the entire profile ventilation must be replaced.

Place valve element (1) on float (2), weight it with the test ring (3) and fill the cavity between the float (2) and the upper edge of the valve element with spirit

If the fluid level changes within one minute, the entire profile ventilation must be replaced.

Use test ring (3) for retarder profile ventilation manufactured by Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG, D-74564 Crailsheim, Germany.
