Removing

Remove rear road wheels.

Remove bell hub with outer planet carrier

Unlock outer slotted nut (9)

Unscrew outer slotted nut (9)



Remove locking plate (8)

Unscrew inner slotted nut (7)



Detach planetary hub gear (6) with planetary hub gear carrier (5) from axle tube of axle housing (10)

Detach rear wheel hub (2)

 Do not damage outer tapered roller bearing (3) when detaching. Secure the rear wheel hub (2) using a suitable lifting device.

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Replace thrust ring (1)

 When installing, heat up thrust ring (1) to approx. 80 °C and mount up to the stop using a suitable drift.



Install

Install rear wheel hub (2)

 Before installing, grease outer tapered roller bearing (3) with MB multipurpose grease.



Install planetary hub gear (6) with planetary hub gear carrier (5) on the axle tube of the axle bridge (10)

Tighten inner slotted nut (7)

 A basic setting of wheel bearing play takes place by tightening the inner slotted nut (7).

Install locking plate (8)

 Use new locking plate (8).
