5 Locking plate

When adjusting the wheel bearing play the rear wheel hub (2) must be turned constantly in order to enable the tapered roller bearings to settle.

1 Release outer slotted nut (4).

2 Unscrew the outer slotted nut (4) using a claw-type wrench.

3 Detach locking plate (5).

4 Correct wheel bearing play.

The wheel bearing play can be changed by slackening or tightening the inner slotted nut (1). If the wheel bearing play is too small, slacken the inner slotted nut (1). If the wheel bearing play is too large, tighten the inner slotted nut (1). Aim for the lower adjustment values on new tapered roller bearings.

5 Install locking plate (5).

Install new locking plate (5).

6 Tighten outer slotted nut (4) using claw-type wrench .

Crank the rear wheel hub twice in the process.

7 Lock outer slotted nut (4).
