Removing

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove front wheels



Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary

Mount dial indicator (022) with dial indicator holder (015) on the bottom side of the transverse control arm (4) and pre-tension

 In the process the measuring drift must contact the head of the supporting ball joint (7) with a pre-tension of 3 mm.

Determine the play in the supporting joint (7)

 The steering angle must not be changed during the measurement, otherwise measurement errors can occur.

 Press the steering knuckle firmly upwards several times and release again, read off play on the dial indicator. Carry out left using a suitable tool. If a play of 0.4 mm results from the measurement, the supporting ball joint (7) must be replaced:



Repeat measuring procedure on the other vehicle side



Install

Fit front wheels



Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary
