Perform basic setting of engine idle speed

Detach linkage (6)

Switch electrical system off and on again at steering lock

 As a result of this step and the subsequent step the electronic control detects the maximum travel values of the EMR actuator.

Hold the accelerator pedal in the idle and full load positions for 5 seconds each

 Do not run the engine during this step.

Adjust length of linkage (6) and attach

 Conditions:

- Accelerator pedal in idle speed position.

- Electrical system switched on.

- -Governor lever (4) resting against idle stop screw (5).

- It must be possible to fit linkage (6) onto the ball head of the governor lever (4) free of tension.

Again switch electrical system off and on at steering lock

 As a result of this step and the subsequent step the electronic control stores the new travel values of the EMR actuator (2).

Again hold the accelerator pedal in the idle and full load positions for 5 seconds each

 Do not run the engine during this step.

Carry out precision setting of electronically controlled idle speed

 On engine 402.970 in
