| Remove/install | ||
1 | Remove transmission | ||
2 | Drain transmission oil | Refer to maintenance manual.
3 | Remove timing case | ||
4 | Fasten transmission on assembly stand
5 | Remove rear transmission cover (1).
6 | Remove reverse gear shaft (2) from rear section of transmission housing (3)
Installation: Align reverse gear with thrust plate (13) to transmission housing. Observe installation position of reverse gear shaft. Align the flattened sides of the reverse gear shaft to the rear housing cover.
7 | Remove left (7) and right (8) bearing pins of shift forks for reverse gear, 1st/2nd gear and 3rd/4th gear on rear section of transmission housing (3) | The reverse gear bearing pins are larger in diameter than the rest.
Installation: - First insert and tighten the bearing pins of the shift fork for reverse gear. Then first the right-hand (viewed in the direction of the input shaft) and then the left-hand bearing pins are inserted and finally tightened one side at a time, starting with the right-hand bearing pin in the shift fork for 1st/2nd gear. - Coat pin thread with sealant.
| |||
8 | Detach rear part of transmission housing (3) from front part of transmission housing (4) | - Knock out both centering pins (5) with a suitable drift and remove bolt (6). - Screw in two hooks to lift rear section of transmission housing. - To achieve greater clearance to the countershaft, the reverse gear must be pressed outwards slightly when lifting the rear section of the transmission housing.
Installation: - Replace all bolts (6). - Apply sealant to front section of transmission housing.
| |||
| |||
9 | Drive outer race with cylindrical roller bearing cage (11) of main shaft cylindrical roller bearing out of rear section of transmission housing (3) | Using suitable drift and plastic mallet, knock outer race with cylindrical roller bearing cage out of rear section of transmission housing until it is possible to grip under the collar of the outer race with two assembly levers and lever it out.
10 | Drive outer race (12) of countershaft tapered roller bearing out of rear section of transmission housing (3) | Knock out with suitable drift and plastic mallet.
11 | Remove reverse gear (9) with thrust plate (13), needle roller bearing (14) and collared bushing (15) from rear section of transmission housing (3)
12 | Install in the reverse order |
