Risk of explosion caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn injuries caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards.

Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground.

Only fill liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnecting the battery

Detach exhaust pipe (1) from engine brake flap fitting and transmission and fasten on frame

Detach bracket (14) from transmission housing and gearshift linkage (13) from gearshift

 Installation: Install new self-locking nuts.

Detach compressed air line (12) from transmission

 Danger!

Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes

Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

Detach clutch line (10) from transmission

 Collect escaping brake fluid.



 Installation: Replace sealing ring on clutch line

Disconnect plug connectors (7, 9) on transmission

 Installation: Replace lead seal (8) on connector plug (7).

Detach lines (11) and wiring harnesses at transmission

Detach propeller shaft (4) from transmission and fasten to frame

  Installation: Replace self-locking nuts.

Raise transmission and support engine at timing case

 Use a suitable lifting tool.

Support transmission from below

 Use suitable lifting equipment with adequate support surface.

Remove supporting arm (6) on transmission



Detach transmission at engine

 When removing and installing, pay attention to lines, line systems and components in the area of the transmission. Damaged lines and components lead to malfunctions and require additional repair work.

 Installation: Lightly lubricate input shaft.

Install in the reverse order

Check transmission oil level after the test drive and correct if necessary


