Open cap of coolant expansion reservoir and release overpressure in cooling circuit.

 For installation location of coolant expansion reservoir, see information of bodybuilder.

Set heating to max. heating output and switch on ignition.

Only for engine with heating system.

Provide filling unit.



Open drain screw (3) and drain coolant at radiator (2) and collect with filling unit.

 Catch coolant with filling unit only. The coolant will be cleaned through a filter during filling.

Insert drain hose into coolant drain fitting (5).

 Use a commercially available hose as a drain hose.

Open coolant drain fitting (5) and drain coolant at engine and collect with filling unit.

 Catch coolant with filling unit only. The coolant will be cleaned through a filter during filling.

Remove drain screws (6, 8) and drain coolant at retarder (7).

Switch off ignition.

Tighten drain screws (6, 8) at retarder (7).

Remove adhering chips on the drain screws (6).
Otherwise the engine cooling system will be damaged.

 Install new sealing rings.

Remove drain hose and tighten coolant drain fitting (5).

Tighten drain screw (3) at radiator (2).

Check

Check drained coolant for contamination.

 In the case of strong fouling, the coolant must generally be replaced.

If coolant is severely contaminated



Deoil engine cooling system.

Check coolant using an antifreeze tester.

 See information from body manufacturer.

If antifreeze additive concentration is too low



Correct concentration of antifreeze or replace the coolant.

Filling and bleed using the diagnostic system

Connect vehicle diagnosis system, select filling of coolant circuit and start.



Exit vehicle diagnosis system and disconnect.



Check engine cooling system for leak tightness.
