Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure with the safety strut.

Risk of explosion caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn injuries caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards.

Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground.

Only fill liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Remove engine trim panel

Remove wiring harness at intake air preheater of charge air pipe (3).

With code M89 Intake air preheating system

Remove charge air pipe (3, 4) together with charge air hose (1, 2)

 Seal hole at charge air manifold and turbocharger.

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces and install new gasket.
The charge air hoses (1, 2) must not be mixed up.

The red charge air hose (2) is temperature-resistant and must always be installed between charge air pipe (4) and charge air cooler.

Cover the starter with film

 Before removing the injection line (6), it is essential for the starter underneath it to be covered with film to protect it from any AdBlue that may drip out, which could damage the starter and the connected cable sets.

 Installation: Remove the film from the starter.

 Danger!

Risk of burn injuries and scalding when working at AdBlue lines and the components attached to them. Risk of injury to skin and eyes when handling AdBlue. Risk of poisoning from swallowing AdBlue

Only pour AdBlue into suitable containers. Only begin work on the exhaust aftertreatment system after releasing the pressure.

Remove injection line (6)

 Seal holes with suitable plugs.

 Installation: The injection line (6) must be replaced after every removal.


