Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices | No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards. Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground. 2 | Unscrew bolts (6) and remove heat shield (3) | ||
3 | Detach exhaust pipe (5) from engine brake flap fitting (1) | Installation: Clean sealing surfaces on engine brake flap fitting (1) and on exhaust pipe (5). | |
4 | Detach compressed air line (4) at the engine brake flap fitting (1) | ||
5 | Unscrew nuts (7) on turbocharger (2) and remove engine brake flap fitting (1) | Replace self-locking nuts (7). | |
Installation: Clean sealing surfaces on turbocharger flange (2) and on engine brake flap fitting (1). | |||

6 | Install in the reverse order | ||
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. | |
7 | Carry out an engine test run and check engine brake flap fitting (1) for leaks | Crank engine with starter for maximum 90 seconds. Wait at least for about 2 minutes before repeating attempt at starting. Do not rev up the engine if an oil pressure is not indicated. The oil pressure gauge must indicate oil pressure after about 10 seconds. |
