Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

 Only loosen left and right upper crossmember from frame-type integral support

Remove exhaust gas recirculation switchover valve

 For model 451.3## /4## #K up to 452007, remove the ARF switchover valve with bracket.

Remove air filter housing

Remove bypass switchover valve on exhaust gas recirculation cooler

Remove throttle valve positioner

Remove cable tie (arrows A)

 Installation: Replace cable ties (arrows A).

Remove vacuum hoses (5, 6) and disconnect electrical connector (7) from left boost pressure positioner (Y100)

 Installation: Vacuum hoses (5, 6) have different diameters

Remove bracket with the LH boost pressure regulator (Y100)

Unscrew bolts (4) from exhaust gas recirculation cooler (2)

Loosen bolt clamp (8) on charge air hose

Unscrew bolts (17) and remove mixing chamber top section (1.1)

When replacing mixing chamber top section (1.1).

 Installation: Replace seal between mixing chamber top section (1.1) and mixing chamber (1).



Unscrew bolts (9) from mixing chamber (1) and pull mixing chamber (1) with exhaust gas recirculation cooler (2) toward front into engine compartment



Unscrew bolts (18) and mixing chamber (1) from exhaust gas recirculation cooler (2)

 Installation: Replace seal (19) between mixing chamber (1) and exhaust gas recirculation cooler (2).



Remove nuts (14) and remove left boost pressure positioner (Y100)

Model 451.3## /4## #K up to 452007 for replacing the mixing chamber (1).

Undo bolts (16) and remove bracket (15)

Model 451.3## /4## #K up to 452007 for replacing the mixing chamber (1).

Unscrew bolts (20) and remove exhaust gas recirculation positioner (21)

When replacing mixing chamber (1).



Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
