Clean up oil filler plug proximities (1) with cloth and drain plugs (2, 3)

Remove filler plug (1) and oil drain plug (2)

For transmission 715.378 in types 934.241, 938.142, 958.4 with Code BA1 (Retarder Voith with optimized power) with Code BA9 (secondary retarder Voith R 115) use own manufacturing tool to flow the transmission oil

Drain the oil while it is at the working temperature.

Vehicles with cross member under the drain screw (2), use own manufacturing tool to flow the transmission oil

If there are two filling and drain plugs in the transmission, it will just be necessary to open one for each drain or filling operation.

Remove oil drain plug (3) at power take-off

Only in the transmissions with power take-off NA 123/124/125.

Replace the oil filter element of the power take-off

Only in transmissions 715.3/ 5 with code (N56) power take-off independent of the transmission (NMV) i = 1,48 or with code (N57) power take-off independent of the transmission (NMV) i = 1,09

Install and tighten the oil drain screw (3)

Fill up the transmission with oil until lower edge of the filler hole

Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start the engine and keep it working by approximately 2 minutes

Perform the work steps 9 to 12 only in transmissions with power take-off.

Remove oil filler plug (1)

Fill up the transmission with oil until lower edge of the filler hole

Install and tighten oil filler plug (1)
