Remove the filler neck cap, in the compensation reservoir.

Loosen the drain screw (3) on the engine block and catch the coolant in an appropriate container.

Remove the drain screw (4) on the radiator and catch the coolant in an appropriate container.
On engine 457.927 loosen the clamp (5) and remove the hose (6) from the radiator bottom part.

Remove the hose or retarder cooling plug draining the coolant.
Only vehicles fitted with retarder.

Keep the caught coolant in an adequate container.
Refill

Install the retarder coolant hose or drain screw.
Only vehicles fitted with retarder.

Install the plug (3) on the engine block and the plug (4) on the radiator.
On engine 457.927 install the hose (6) of the radiator bottom part and fasten the clamp (5).

Prepare the cooling in a separate container, by shaking it to perfectly homogenize the mixture.

Control the mixture concentration with the o densitometer.
If necessary, make corrections, adding water or additive until obtaining the specified concentration.

The correct coolant level corresponds to the Max/ Min markings on the reservoir.

Vehicles without compensation reservoir
Correct coolant level matches filler neck lower edge. .

Vehicles with compensation reservoir, without level indicator
Correct coolant level matches filler neck lower edge. .
10.4
Vehicles with level indication through a round visor.
The level is correct when the coolant reaches the center of the visor.

Install the filler neck cap.
