Test prerequisites

- 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th gear detected

- engine speed > 450 rpm

- output shaft rotational speed > 180 rpm

- no shift operation

The gear ratios are calculated from the following variables: speed signal n2, speed signal n3 and output shaft rotational speed (determined via rear wheel speed).

Faults are detected by the ETC control module and sent via the CAN data bus to the ME-SFI control module. The faults are stored and the malfunction indicator lamp is activated by the ME-SFI control module. Also read out ETC diagnostic trouble code memory, fault code 55.
