7 | Slightly tap the bearing housing caps (1) with a plastic hammer and remove them | Mark the bearing caps, the threaded rings and the roller bearings to prevent mixing them during installation. | |
8 | Remove the threaded rings (10) and the ring races of the tapered roller bearings (9) | The race rings of the tapered roller bearings form a homogeneous set and cannot be interchanged. | |
9 | Remove the crown gear with the differential case (8) from the rear axle housing | Slightly tilt the crown gear with the differential so that it can slide along the drive pinion bearing bracket. | |

16 | Install the threaded rings (10) and turn them until they touch bearings of the differential case | ||
17 | Install the bearing housing caps (1) | Note the marks made while removing and the matching between the threaded ring threads on the housing and the bearing caps. | |
18 | Install the screws of the bearing housing caps (2) and tighten them firmly | Make sure that the threaded rings can still be rotated. | |
Slightly lubricate the seating surface and apply a sealing agent to the atmosphere-facing screws. | |||
