Since February 2013 on vehicles without code ML3 and since August 2014 on vehicles with code ML3, code MZ3 (Electromagnetic viscous coupling for fan) (B) replaced by code MO1 (Electromagnetic viscous fan clutch, Behr) (A) during production.
For repairs, the Behr viscous fan coupling (1) with code MO1 (Electromagnetic viscous fan coupling, Behr) (A) is stocked at GLC. This parts kit contains various optimization measures which provide a significant improvement in quality. For repair cases we therefore recommend replacing the BorgWarner viscous fan coupling (2) with the Behr viscous fan coupling (1). This, however, requires a number of additional operations; refer to the documents listed below.
After the modification, it is absolutely essential to replace the previous code MZ3 (Electromagnetic viscous fan coupling) with the new code MO1 (Electromagnetic viscous fan coupling, Behr) in the data card in the VeDoc system. In addition, the numbers of the variant parts list (SAA) must be replaced as follows:

Vehicles with code M58 (Fan, increased output):
The previous SAA for the viscous fan clutch 50515409 changed to the new SAA 50515417.

Vehicles with code ML3 (High-speed fan drive with belt drive):
The previous SAA for the viscous fan clutch 50515414 changed to the new SAA 50515419.
The previous SAA for the fan 50515415 changed to the new SAA 50515419.
The previous SAA for the adapter with freewheel bearing 50516903 changed to the new SAA 50516904.
