Modified pump module and AdBlue® metering devices
Available as from 06/2015 onwards, are a modified pump module with part number A 000 140 53 78 and a modified AdBlue® metering device with part number A 000 140 53 39.
Additional operations for specific vehicles
On vehicles that have one of the following codes, important additional operations must be performed when such a modified pump module or a modified AdBlue® metering device is installed:
M5R (EEV engine version)
M5Y (Euro V engine version)
M5Z (Euro VI engine version)
By contrast, on newer vehicles that have one of the following codes, no additional operations are required:
M5L (Euro VI engine version, version 2)
M5M (Euro VI engine version, with OBD-C)
Additional operations for installation of a modified AdBlue® metering device
Because of the modified design involved, these AdBlue® metering devices exhibit another metering characteristic curve - consequently, when replacing old AdBlue® metering devices the following additional operations are required:
In VeDoc, the code K0B (D4 AdBlue metering unit) must be entered.
After the code K0B (D4 AdBlue metering unit) has been entered, the software release on the exhaust aftertreatment (ACM) control unit must be changed. Here, the software for the pump module (A58) is configured to the modified metering characteristic curve.

Pump modules
Newly delivered pump modules with part number A 000 140 53 78 are already configured for AdBlue® metering devices with part number A 000 140 53 39. If a new pump module is installed in a vehicle that is still equipped with an older AdBlue® metering device, the software release on the exhaust aftertreatment (ACM) control unit must be changed. As part of this procedure the software for the pump module is adapted accordingly. XENTRY recognizes whether a new AdBlue® metering device is installed, as it checks whether the Code K0B (D4 AdBlue metering unit) is stored in VeDoc. Accordingly, the matching metering characteristic curve is configured for the pump module.
