MODEL 375.4, 940, 942, 943, 944 with ENGINE 457.9## ## up to 81807 with CODE (MS3) Engine version Euro 3
The belt drive (poly-V belt tensioner, poly-V belt, guide pulley) of engine model series OM 457 has been optimized as part of ongoing technical developments.
The procedure for repair work on Euro 3 vehicles up to engine end no. 081807 is described below.
We would like to point out that when ordering a defective component in addition the specified components still have to be ordered at the same time.

Once the repair is complete in the vehicle documentation system the previous variant parts list has to be erased from the vehicle data card and replaced by the new variant parts list.

Procedure in the case of repair
1 Damage to basic belt drive
In the event of failure of poly-V-belt tensioner (Dayco company)
- Install new poly-V belt tensioner (Litens) and new poly-V belt (Optibelt).
If guide pulley (Dayco/Linnig) fails:
- Install new guide pulley (Dayco/Linnig) with previous part number.
In the event of failure of the poly-V-belt (Dayco company)
- Install new poly-V-belt (Dayco company) with previous part number.

2 If fan belt drive is damaged:
In the event of failure of poly-V-belt tensioner (Dayco company)
- Install new poly-V belt tensioner (Litens) and new poly-V belt (Optibelt).
In the event of failure of guide pulley (Dayco company)
- Install new guide pulley (Dayco) with previous part number.
If poly-V belt (Gates) fails:
- Install new poly-V belt (Gates) with previous part number.
