Draining | |||
Danger | Risk of explosion caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant. | Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been drained.

Repair work for defective refrigerant circuit
1 | Drain new refrigerant compressor | Drain compressor oil through the openings for low pressure and high-pressure lines.
Perform work rapidly, since compressor oil is hygroscopic.
2 | Drain removed refrigerant compressor | Use suitable measuring cup.
| Check | ||
3 | Check condition of compressor oil | Check compressor oil for signs of contamination (color dark gray - black).
| Measure | ||
4 | Measure quantity of compressor oil drained from removed refrigerant compressor
Filling | |||
5 | Fill new AC compressor | Fill the quantity of compressor oil drained from the removed refrigerant compressor plus an additional 20 cm3 into the new refrigerant compressor. Always use new compressor oil. |
