Warning | Risk of injury to skin or eyes from hot hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of burn injuries from contact with components heated by hot hydraulic fluid. Risk of poisoning from swallowing hydraulic fluid | Do not make any technical modifications to the pressure gauge or the test equipment. Check the pressure gauge and test equipment for mechanical damage each time prior to use. Observe the flow diagram when connecting the test equipment. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Warning | Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted | Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure with the safety strut.

| Install | ||
1 | Open maintenance flap
2 | Tilt cab | ||
3 | Attach test lines (1, 2) to test equipment (3) | If necessary.
Steering test equipment
4 | Disconnect oil pressure line between power-steering pump and steering gear (4) at a suitable connection point | Collect escaping oil in a suitable container.
5 | Connect test line (1) with power-steering pump and test line (2) with steering gear | Union nut, steering gear oil line/hose
6 | Turn control wheel on test equipment (3) counterclockwise as far as it will go | This ensures that the valve in the test equipment (3) is fully open.
7 | Connect test equipment (3) to battery | The test equipment (3) is designed for 12-V and 24-V operation.
8 | Switch on test equipment (3) and wait until self-test has been completed | During the self-test, all segments in the test equipment display (3) are briefly actuated. After the self-test, all three green LEDs in the display must be lit. If this is not the case, there is a fault in test equipment (3). Refer to test equipment operator's manual (3).
9 | Bleed steering system
Bleed steering until values in the test equipment display (3) fluctuate by max. 1 bar or 1 l/min.
| Remove | ||
10 | Tilt cab | ||
11 | Check oil temperature of steering | Switch on the test equipment (3) briefly if necessary.
If the oil temperature is higher than 40 °C.
| |||
Wait until oil temperature drops below 40 °C.
12 | Detach test lines (1, 2) from vehicle and seal them off | Collect escaping oil in a suitable container.
13 | Assemble oil pressure line between power-steering pump and steering gear (4) to connection point | Union nut, steering gear oil line/hose
14 | Disconnect test equipment (3) from battery
15 | Detach test lines (1, 2) from test equipment (3) | If necessary.
16 | Bleed steering system
Do not yet tilt back the cab.
17 | Check steering for leaks | Visual inspection.
18 | Lower cab | ||
19 | Close maintenance flap |
