Remove

Secure vehicle against rolling

Remove brake wear sensor (7)

Turn brake camshaft (6) and linkage adjuster (4) back to starting position using adjustment screw (5)

 Turn the adjustment screw (5) counterclockwise. Creaking noises occur when turning screw.

Remove pin (1)

Remove screw/bolt (11) at control arm (12)

Remove linkage adjuster (4) from brake camshaft (6)



Automatic linkage adjuster modified

Remove shim from brake camshaft (6)

 The shim is not shown in the graphic. It is located between linkage adjuster (4) and bearing bracket.



Install

Slide shim onto brake camshaft (6)

Position linkage adjuster (4) onto brake camshaft (6)



Install bolt (1)

 It must be possible to insert pin (1) without resistance.

Push on washer (2) and secure bolt (1) using new cotter pin (3)

Adjust control arm (12) at linkage adjuster (4)

Check, adjust axial play of brake camshaft (6)
