1 | Remove wheel | ||
| |||
2 | Put tire down with valve facing upwards
| TIREFIT tire sealant | ||
This is to prevent tire sealant (3) spraying out when unscrewing the valve element.
3 | Remove valve element from valve and release pressure from the wheel
4.1 | Unscrew union nut of the valve body and press the valve body into the wheel | Vehicles with code 470 Tire pressure monitor
4.2 | Pull valve out of the disk wheel | Vehicles without tire pressure monitor
| |||
Push the valve debris remaining in the valve bore of the disk wheel into the inside of the wheel.
5 | Wheel with valve bore pointing downwards upright for 10 minutes and put down raised slightly | To ease extraction of the tire sealant (3).
6 | Attach hose (2) to empty tire sealant container (1) | Replace the original hose of the tire sealant container (1) by a 400 mm long hose (2).
7 | Compress the tire sealant container (1) and insert hose (2) through the valve bore of the disk wheel into the tire sealant (3)
8 | Reduce pressure on the tire sealant container (1) and suction off tire sealant (3) | Position tire sealant container (1) under the wheel in order to make it easier to suction off the tire sealant (3). Approx. 90 % of the tire sealant (3) can be removed.
9 | Bore the tire tread with a twist drill bit (10 mm dia.) and allow tire sealant (3) to flow off into a suitable container | If an empty tire sealant container (1) is not available.
| Clean | ||
10 | Clean disk wheel | Remove tire sealant residue (3) using a damp cloth.
11 | Replace tires | ||
12 | Place new tire repair kit (3) into the vehicle
