7 | Remove inner tapered roller bearing (3) and radial sealing ring (2) | ||
8 | Check condition of inner tapered roller bearing (3) and outer tapered roller bearing (5) | If necessary, remove the outer rings. | |

9 | Check condition of thrust ring (1) | If necessary, replace the thrust ring (1). Pop off the thrust ring (1) with a chisel and remove. | |

10 | Heat up new thrust ring (1) to approx. 80 °C and push on until it abuts with the axle tube | Press on thrust ring (1) until it has cooled down sufficiently that its installation position no longer changes. | |
11 | Install bearing outer races into wheel hub (4) | Only if the tapered roller bearings (3, 5) are replaced. Use a suitable drift. | |
12 | Grease inner tapered roller bearing (3) and install in wheel hub (4) | Use part of the specified quantity of grease. | |
The wheel hub must contain the specified quantity of grease following assembly otherwise damage could occur. The wheel bearings could overheat if there is not enough grease. If there is too much grease, the excess grease could be discharged from the wheel hub and come into contact with the brake linings. | |||
The specified quantity of grease is packed into the wheel hub over several operation steps. | |||

13 | Install new radial sealing ring (2) into wheel hub (4) | | |
Grease sealing lip of radial sealing ring (2). | |||
14 | Fill wheel hub (4) with grease | | |
15 | Slide wheel hub (4) onto axle tube | Do not damage the radial sealing ring (2). | |
16 | Grease outer tapered roller bearing (5) and insert into wheel hub (4) | | |
17 | Push on thrust washer (6). | ||
18 | Tighten inner slotted nut (7) | ||

19 | Insert new locking plate (8) and tighten outer slotted nut (9) | Oil locking plate (8) lightly. The locking pin of the locking plate (8) must point outward. | |

20 | Check wheel bearing play and adjust if necessary | ||
