Each set of bevel gear and drive pinion has a certain assembly measure for the obtainment of the perfect contact marks between the teeth.
Due to the manufacturing tolerances the dimensions generally divert from the standard basic measure
This deviation is printed on the oblique face of the bevel gear and can be positive or negative with regard to the standard basic measure.
There are:
G = basic measurement
G1= Negative measurement
G2= Positive measurement
1.1 | Rear axle 743.0/1/2/3, 746.8/9 |
1.2 | Rear axle 745.0 |
2.1 | Rear axle 743.0/1/2/3, 746.8/9 |
2.2 | Rear axle 745.0 |
B35.31-0041-01
The following instructions had been prepared based on rear axles with the pinion's basic depth of 83,50 mm and serves as work guide for axles with the basic depth of 108 mm.
Example: G = 83.50 mm - Pinion's basic dimension
B35.30-0057-01
3.1 | Rear axle 743.0/1/2/3, 746.8/9 |
Radially turn the device to one side and to the other until finding the point where the dial gage's scale indicates the smallest point. |
The centering tip should be supported by the centering hole and probe tip on the top surface of the pinion. |
3.2 | Rear axle 745.0 |
Radially turn the device to one side and to the other until finding the point where the dial gage's scale indicates the smallest point. |
The centering tip should be supported by the centering hole and probe tip on the top surface of the pinion. |
4 | Check the basic dimension observing the divergence from the value indicated on the bevel gear |
B35.31-0042-01
Negative measure |
B35.30-0058-01
Example: G1= 83.50 mm - 0.20 - 83.30 mm
Positive measure |
B35.30-0059-01
Example: G2= 83.50 mm + 0.20 = 83.70 mm
5 | Check the basic dimension observing the divergence from the value indicated on the bevel gear Example 533-0.20 (G1) or 560+0.20 (G2) The first group of vulgarisms (533 or 560) represents the number of the pinion and ring gear set. The second number (-0,20 or +0,20) indicates the divergence with regard to the basic measure |
6 | Remove again the pinion set from its lodging and remove or add compensating washers as per measures obtained in the inspection and then install it again in its lodging. |
7 | Check again to confirm that the basic measure had been reached. |
