 	Remove/install
1	Shift transmission to position N or neutral.
2	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift.		AR00.60-P-0100CW

4	Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m).
5	Remove brake caliper with connected brake hoses and hang to one side free of tension.		AR42.10-P-0080LWO
6.1	Release left and right underfloor paneling in area of stop plates (6).	Model 238.3

6.2	Remove rear diagonal struts.	Model 238.4

7	Remove trim (1).	If installed.

9	Remove propeller shaft from rear axle differential, hang to one side and fix in place.		AR41.10-P-0050LW
10	Remove rear shock absorbers.		AR32.25-P-0110LWO
11	Remove screws (2, 3) from rear axle rpm sensor.	 Bolt, rpm sensor to wheel carrier	*BA42.30-P-1001-02K
12	Remove holders (4) with rear axle rpm sensors and electric lines, hang to one side and fix in place.
13.1	Remove rear axle springs	Model 238 except code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)

13.2	Remove air suspension bellows	Model 238 with code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)

14	Unclip electric lines at brackets of level sensors.	If installed.
15	Disconnect electrical connectors from level sensors and swivel electric lines to one side.	If installed.
16	Unclip electric lines for air suspension bellows at rear axle carrier.	Model 238 with code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)
17	Remove screws (5) from stop plates (6).	 Bolt, stop plate to body	*BA35.10-P-1003-01H
18	Position lifting platform with support (10) onto rear axle (9) and secure with tensioning strap.

19	Unscrew screws (7) and remove stop plates (6).	 Do not use an impact wrench. Otherwise, the threads will be damaged.
		 Installation: Use compressed air to clean thread in frame floor assembly and check for correct seating of threaded inserts.
		 Self-locking bolt securing front decoupling element of rear axle carrier to frame floor assembly	*BA35.10-P-1001-01H
20	Remove bolts (8).	 Do not use an impact wrench. Otherwise, the threads will be damaged.
		 Installation: Use compressed air to clean thread in frame floor assembly and check for correct seating of threaded inserts.
		 Self-locking bolt securing rear decoupling element of rear axle carrier to frame floor assembly	*BA35.10-P-1002-01H
21	Lower rear axle (9).	 Installation: Check, whether cavity preservation was performed on the rear axle carrier.
		If not,
		
		Perform cavity preservation.

22	Install in the reverse order
