16 | Remove combustion and corrosion residue at connecting points. | ||

17 | Check elastomer bearings (5) and decoupling element (6) for damage and wear and replace if necessary. | Nut, decoupling element for front exhaust system to bracket | |
18 | Install in the reverse order. | ||
19 | Check installation position and clearance of exhaust system (1) and correct if necessary. | ||

Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. | |
20 | Perform engine test run and check leaktightness of exhaust system (1). | ||
21 | Install center and rear lower engine compartment lining. |
