7 | Pull off front wheel hub (5). | Secure the front wheel hub (5) with a suitable lifting device. | |

8 | Remove outer tapered roller bearing (7) from front wheel hub (5) | ||
9 | Remove ABS measuring ring | ||
10 | Remove inner tapered roller bearing (3) | ||
11 | Remove axial sealing ring (2) | ||
12 | Check condition of inner tapered roller bearing (3) and outer tapered roller bearing (7) | If necessary, remove outer races (4, 6) be removed. | |

14 | Clean contact surface of front wheel hub (5) on steering knuckle | ||
15 | Grease inner tapered roller bearing (3) and insert into front wheel hub (5) | Use part of the specified quantity of grease. | |
The wheel hub must contain the specified quantity of grease following assembly otherwise damage could occur. The wheel bearings could overheat if there is not enough grease. If there is too much grease, the excess grease could be discharged from the wheel hub and come into contact with the brake linings. | |||
The specified quantity of grease is packed into the wheel hub over several operation steps. | |||

21 | Install thrust washer (8) and clamping nut (10) | ||
22 | Tighten clamp nut (10) | When tightening, turn the front wheel hub (5) and strike the front wheel hub (5) several times in a crosswise pattern until the tapered roller bearing lies flat against the contact surface. | |

23 | Check and adjust wheel bearing play | ||

24 | Fill cover (10) with grease | Use the remainder of the specified quantity of grease. | |
