Remove/install front axle transverse control arm

Removing

Insert assembly blocks between spring and spring clamp plates

 The vehicle must be on its wheels.



Assembly blocks for removing wishbone

Remove wheels

Unscrew brake caliper (8) and fasten in wheel housing with wire

Unscrew retaining nut (13) for tie rod (12) from steering knuckle and remove with shield (11)

Press tie rod (12) off steering knuckle



Raise wishbone (14) approx. 10 mm with jack

In order to remove the tension from the shock-absorber strut.

Unscrew shock-absorber strut (1) from steering knuckle

Lower wishbone (14)

Detach wishbone (14) from steering knuckle and front axle beam

Check rubber mount on wishbone and replace if necessary: 

Remove rubber mount from wishbone.

Install

Attach wishbone (14) to steering knuckle and front axle beam

 Replace nuts (3, 13, 17) and bolt (5).

Do not tighten nuts (3) on wishbone bearing retaining bolts yet.

Raise wishbone (14) approx. 10 mm with jack

In order to remove the tension from the shock-absorber strut.

Screw shock-absorber strut (1) onto steering knuckle



Fit tie rod (12) onto steering knuckle, fit shield (11) and screw on retaining nut (10)


 Replace nut (10).

Attach brake caliper (8) to steering knuckle


́ Replace bolts (7).

Mount wheels

Remove assembly blocks (a) between spring and spring clamp plate

Roll vehicle approx. 1m forwards and back, and rock firmly

18

Tighten nuts (3) on wishbone bearing


 The vehicle must be on its wheels.

Actuate brake pedal until brake pressure is built up
