Remove selector lever handle (108)

Unclip cover (109) (arrows)

Unscrew bolt (111).



Set selector lever (112) to position "D"

Unclip upper section of bearing bracket (113) (arrows)

Pull carrier (129) out of upper section of bearing bracket and remove sliding shift gate guard (130)

Remove gear indicator (114)

Detach gear recognition switch (S16/10)

 Installation: Move selector lever to position "1".

In the installation position of the gear recognition switch for the shift shaft, the drive plate (115) must be in the rear direction of travel (arrow).

Remove shift shaft (116) completely with intermediate lever (97) and bracket with shift lock (117)

 Installation: Insert components only when preassembled into the lower section of the bearing bracket (113a) and grease the bearing points.

Pull shift shaft (116) out of bracket with shift lock

Remove selector lever with clevis (112a), to do so remove retainer (112b) and pull out pin (112c)

 The spring (112d) can jump out.



Unscrew shift detent (120)

 Installation: Grease ball.

Remove left plain bearing (122), to do so remove pin (127) using a press from the shift shaft

 Check plain bearing for signs of wear, replace if necessary.

Detach shift shaft (116) with intermediate lever (97) from sleeve (137), to do so remove pin (127)

 Installation: Before installing the pin into the shift shaft, apply light coating of grease to the pin.



Remove right plain bearing (121) from bracket

 Check plain bearing for signs of wear, replace if necessary.

Remove support lever (119), to do so unhook spring (118) and remove retainer (119a)

Remove shift gate (128) from lower section of bearing bracket, to do so remove Allen head bolts (123)



Assemble in the reverse order

Adjust play on shift lock


