Remove

1

Remove drive unit.

 The drive unit consists of the drive shaft, multiplate clutch K2, front planet carrier, inner plate carrier with multiplate clutch K1 and multidisk brakeB3.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring of oil pump (17).

Mark installation position of oil pump (17).

Remove screws (17a).

Screw two opposing screws (17a) into housing (17g).

Loosen oil pump (17) by applying gentle blows using a plastic mallet.

Remove two opposing screws (17a).

Remove oil pump (17) from torque converter housing (1w).

 The impellers (17r, 17z) lie loose in the housing (17g).

Remove O-ring (17o) from housing (17g).

Remove screws (16a).

Loosen multidisk brake B1 (16) by applying gentle blows using a plastic mallet.

Remove multidisk brake B1 (16) from torque converter housing (1w).

Remove seal (1d).



Check

Check multidisk brake B1 (16) for scorch marks and wear.

If scorch marks or worn disks are visible,



Replace disks of multidisk brake B1 (16).

Install

Place seal (1d) on torque converter housing (1w) and align.

 The seal (1d) can be reused several times.
The seal (1d) must not exhibit any scratches and must not be coated with sealant.

Attach multidisk brake B1 (16) to torque converter housing (1w).



Automatic transmission fluids (ATF) (specification 236.15)

Apply oil to transmission components before installation.
Otherwise, damage can occur during the startup phase when the transmission is being commissioned.

 Installation position of multidisk brake B1 (16) is defined by a dowel pin.

Screw in new screws (16a).

 Bolt, multi-disk brake B1 to converter housing

Attach new O-ring (17o) to housing (17g).

 Assembly tool

Insert impellers (17r, 17z) into housing (17g).

 Insert the impeller (17r) in such a way that the chamfer (arrow) points toward the housing (17g).

Attach oil pump (17) to torque converter housing (1w).

 Pay attention to installation position.

Screw in new screws (17a).

 Bolt, oil pump with multi-disk brake B1 to torque converter housing

Install new radial shaft sealing ring in oil pump (17).
