Remove the transmission

Remove the central clutch release bearing

Remove front section of transmission housing (1)

 Refer to Disassemble/assemble transmission housing.

Disassemble

Remove tab washers (3)

Remove oil conduit (5)

Press out input shaft (2)

Detach circlip (10) and press off grooved ball bearing (9)

Remove radial shaft sealing ring of axle shaft (2)

Press out bearing (8)



Remove inner bearing race on output side (7) from countershaft (6)

 The inner race of bearing (8) is divided into two halves. The drive side half has been removed with the front section of the transmission housing (1).

Clean

Clean seats and bearing seats

 Use clean, lint-free rags.



Assemble

Press output side inner bearing race (7) on countershaft (6)

The drive side inner bearing race is installed when assembling the transmission housing.

Press grooved ball bearing (9) onto drive shaft (2) and install removed circlip (10)

 The chamfer on the outer bearing race must point toward the gear wheel.

Check and adjust play between grooved ball bearing (9) and circlip (10)

Install new circlip (10).

Press in drive shaft (2) as far as the end stop in the front section of the transmission housing (1)



Press in bearing (8) as far as the end stop

 The chamfer on the outer bearing race must point up (toward output side).



Install oil conduit (5)

Install tab washers (3)

 Replace screws (4).



Install new radial shaft sealing ring of drive shaft (2)
