Danger! | Risk of injury to hands or eyes when working on hydraulic pressure reservoir systems caused by hydraulic fluid to specification 345.0 spraying out under pressure | Depressurize hydraulic pressure reservoir system before commencing work on system. Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.
1 | Depressurize pressure reservoir for automatic gear control (AGS) | Depressurization should preferably be carried out using STAR DIAGNOSIS as the system can be filled with a pressure of up to 90 bar and the manual depressurization represents an increased source of danger.

| Notes on hydraulic fluid as per specification 345.0 | ||
2 | Remove pressure reservoir (5)
3 | Detach safety clamps (3) from oil reservoir (4)
4 | Detach feed line and return line from oil reservoir (4) | Collect any escaping hydraulic oil in suitable container and dispose of in line with applicable regulations.
5 | Unscrew bolts (1, 2) from oil reservoir (4)
6 | Remove oil reservoir (4)
7 | Flush or clean oil reservoir (4) | Only sheet 345.0 hydraulic fluid may be used for rinsing or cleaning as otherwise the hydraulic system may fail.
8 | Install oil reservoir (4) | Bolts (1) at top of oil reservoir (4).
Bolt (2) at bottom of oil reservoir (4).
9 | Install pressure reservoir (5)
10 | Fill oil reservoir (4) with hydraulic fluid as per sheet 345.0 | Only sheet 345.0 hydraulic fluid may be used as otherwise the hydraulic system may fail.
| Hydraulic fluids (Specification 345.0) | Sheet 345.0 | |
11 | Switch on ignition | ||
12 | Open bleed screw on hydraulic central clutch release bearing | Collect approximately 0.3. l of hydraulic oil in suitable container and dispose of in line with applicable regulations.
13 | Close bleed screw on hydraulic central clutch release bearing
14 | Again fill oil reservoir (4) with hydraulic fluid as per sheet 345.0 | Only sheet 345.0 hydraulic fluid may be used as otherwise the hydraulic system may fail.
| Hydraulic fluids (Specification 345.0) | Sheet 345.0 | |
15 | Perform minor teach-in process on automatic gear control control unit 2 to 3 times
16 | Switch off ignition | ||
17 | Repeat steps 11 to 16 twice more
18 | Disconnect STAR DIAGNOSIS | STAR DIAGNOSIS Compact diagnostic system for commercial vehicles
19 | Check and correct hydraulic oil level | Only sheet 345.0 hydraulic fluid may be used as otherwise the hydraulic system may fail.
| Hydraulic fluids (Specification 345.0) | Sheet 345.0 | |
20 | Conduct a road test | Shift through all gears during the road test. Check system for leaks. |
