A Setback of drive gear to drive shaft

 	Disassemble/assemble
1	Remove oil pan	On model 613	AR01.45-T-7500BA
		On model 671	AR01.45-T-7500AA
2	Remove oil pump	On model 613	AR18.10-T-6020BA
		On model 671	AR18.10-T-6020AA
3	Measure axial play of oil pump gears	 If the specification is exceeded: Replace or repair oil pump.	AR18.10-T-6030-01BB

4	Unscrew bolts (1) and detach cover (2) from oil pump housing (4)	 Do not damage the sealing surface.

5	Inspect backlash of oil pump gears		*BE18.10-N-1004-01E

6	Take embossed oil pump gear (3) out of the oil pump housing (4)
 Danger!	Risk of injury to skin and eyes from handling hot or glowing objects.	Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.	AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
7	Use a suitable drift to press powered oil pump gear (5) out of drive gear (6)	 Installation: Heat drive gear (6) to approx. 80 °C and press onto drive shaft (7).
		Observe setback of drive gear to drive shaft (A). It must be possible to easily rotate the drive gear (6).	*BE18.10-N-1005-01E
	Inspect
8	Check embossed oil pump gear (3) and powered (5), inside areas of oil pump housing (4) and cover (2) for wear	 In case of galling or wear: Replace the parts or the oil pump. Only replace in pairs embossed oil pump gear (3) and powered (5).
9	Inspect bearing bores in oil pump housing (4)	 If the specification is exceeded, replace oil pump housing (4) or oil pump.	*BE18.10-N-1002-01E
10	Inspect outer diameter of drive shaft	 If the specification is exceeded, install new oil pump gears. Only replace in pairs embossed oil pump gear (3) and powered (5).	*BE18.10-N-1003-01E
11	Install in the reverse order	Steps 7 - 1.
