Remove/install

Remove fuel system high pressure pump (1)

Attach a suitable adapter (3.1) for the drive gear (2) to the locating tool (3)

Remove drive plate (6)

 Installation: Replace screws/bolts (4). Wet toothing of the driver (6) slightly with engine oil.

Remove positioning disk (5) from drive gear (2)

 Installation: The marking (arrow) on the positioning disk (5) must point away from the fuel system high pressure pump (1).

Unfasten nut (8)

 Nut, drive wheel to fuel high-pressure pump

Detach drive gear (2),

 Puller, two-arm

Unscrew nut (8)

Remove drive gear (2)

 Installation: The cone of the drive shaft and the tapered seat of the drive gear (2) must be free of grease.

Check roll pin (7) for damage; replace if necessary

Check drive gear (2) for damage

If the drive gear (2) is damaged:



Replace drive gear (2). The counter gear of the gearwheel drive must also be checked for damage and replaced if necessary.

Install in the reverse order
