1 Detach fuel line (8) at fuel filter housing (9).
Collect escaping fuel.
2 Attach testing unit (12) with high pressure hose (11), banjo union with outer thread (6), double banjo bolt M161.5 (7) and fuel line (8) at the fuel filter housing (9).
In case of vehicles with code (M89), flame starting system (FLA), do not connect fuel line to flame starting system while testing.
3 Detach fuel feed line (3) at fuel heat exchanger (1).
Collect escaping fuel.
4 Attach compressed air-filling line with shutoff lever (2), double banjo bolt M161.5 (4) and fuel feed line (3) at fuel heat exchanger (1).
5 Release and detach fuel return line (5) at plug-on valve (10).
Collect escaping fuel. The valve fitted in the plug-on valve (10) must close automatically.
6 Release and detach fuel feed line (14) at plug-on valve of manual fuel feed pump (13).
Collect escaping fuel. The valve fitted in the plug-on valve must close automatically.
7 Fill low pressure fuel circuit in the engine with compressed air at the compressed air-filling line with shutoff lever (2) and close the shutoff lever.
Pay attention to the given test pressure.
8 After the given test period, read off the pressure displayed on the testing unit (12) and compare with test values "pressure drop in the low pressure fuel circuit".
9 Detach testing unit (12) with high pressure hose (11) and compressed air-filling line with shutoff lever (2).
10 Fit fuel line (8), fuel feed line (3), fuel feed line (14) and if required, fuel line of flame starting system with new sealing rings.
