Exceptions are:
1. Vehicles with
a) Spark ignition engine (gasoline) which have less than 4 wheels, a permissible gross vehicle weight of less than 400 kg or a maximum speed of less than 50 km/h due to the type of construction or those which came into service for the first time before 1st July 1969.
b) Compression ignition engine (diesel) which have less than four wheels or maximum speed of no more than 25 km/h due to the type of construction or those which came into service before 1st January 1977.
c) Red marking (§ 28 StVZO [FMVSS]).
2. Agricultural or forestry tractors.
3. Self-propelled machines not integrated in maintenance service
