Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Install retaining lock (3) for crankshaft

Remove bolts (4)

 Installation: In order to exclude angular errors, tightening according to angular degrees must not be performed with a bending rod torque wrench.



Remove the flywheel (5) or drive plate

 Installation: The cylinder pin (6) determines the installation location of flywheel (5) or the clutch plate.



Checking

Check pilot bearing (7) in flywheel (5) or drive plate

 In the case of noisy or rough running or wear the flywheel (5) or clutch plate should be replaced.

Check rear radial sealing ring (8) for damage

 If radial sealing ring (8) is damaged:



Engines 646.9, 647.9, 648.9:

Remove/install end cover.

Replace rear crankshaft radial seal
