Disconnect/connect hose and line connections

 Danger

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Remove ground point for engine (W11/1).

Remove fuel hoses (1).

 Do not use sharp-edged tools.
Damage may occur otherwise.

 To do this open click clamps on the fuel hoses (1) with  pliers for click clamps and press fuel hoses (1) of the fitting using a suitable tool.
In doing so loosen fuel hoses (1) through twisting by hand and disassemble.
Collect escaping fuel; seal connections with  a set of stop plugs.

 Installation: Replace snap clamps.

Disconnect electrical connection (2).

Remove electrical wiring harness (4) and place to one side.

 To do so, remove safety clip. Seal connections with  a set of stop plug; collect escaping brake fluid.

Disconnect electrical connectors (21).

Remove cover for fuse box in engine compartment.

Unscrew nuts (9)   .

Disconnect electrical connections (10, 11).

Remove electrical main wiring harness (12) on FM crossmember.

Disconnect electrical connector (13).

Remove filler neck (14) for washer system.

Remove vacuum line (15) from brake booster.

Remove coolant hose (16).

 To do this open clamp on coolant hose (16) with  hose clamp pliers 454 589 00 37 00 or with  hose clamp pliers 003 589 03 37 00 and remove coolant hose (16).

 Collect coolant which flows out.

 Installation: Replace clamp.

Remove coolant hose (17).

 To do this open clamp on coolant hose (17) with  hose clamp pliers 454 589 00 37 00 or with  hose clamp pliers 003 589 03 37 00 and remove coolant hose (17).

 Collect coolant which flows out.

 Installation: Replace clamp.

Remove refrigerant line (18) from refrigerant compressor   .

 Installation: Replace sealing rings and moisten with compressor oil.
