Replace fuel filter

Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel.

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Release pressure in fuel tank

 Open cap

Remove left rear wheel

Remove rear left wheelhousing liner



Remove/install fender liner in rear fender

Detach fuel feed line (90/12) and fuel return flow line (90/11)

 Fuel lines must not be bent.

 Seal fuel lines, in order to prevent fuel running out.

Unplug connection of spring chamber ventilation (77/3)

 Installation: Check hose clamp for re-usability, replace if necessary.

Disconnect fuel line from Engine (52)

 Seal fuel lines to prevent fuel running out.

 Pliers

Slacken clamp (91/1) and pull out fuel filter with pressure regulator toward front

 Check clamp for re-usability, replace if necessary.



Install in the reverse order

 When installing the fuel filter in the vehicles up to chassis number:
A125801, X716853 (model 163.136);

A266446, X716524 (Model 163.154);

A265965, X716531 (Model 163.172);

A266484 (Model 163.174).





Install additional fuel lines for larger fuel filter with pressure regulator

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.
