After calling up the "fault memory" menu item, the numbers of the fault codes that have been stored in the fault memory are displayed, together with the associated texts.
Current faults appear in the HHT display with a black background. Stored faults do not have a black background in the HHT display.
Procedure for current faults:
Work through the faults as described in the testing of electrical system program.
Procedure for stored faults:
Erase fault memory. Lock and unlock vehicle. Read out fault memory again.
If the fault has been stored again, remedy the fault as described in the testing of electrical system program.
The fault memory is not erased if the power supply is disconnected, e.g. by disconnecting the battery.
The stored faults can be read out at the diagnosis socket using the HHT with the ignition "ON".
Fault environment data
The fault environment data at the point in time of the fault can also be displayed using the HHT.
Only the environment data that was present when the fault occurred for the first time is stored.
The environment data is spread over several display screens (up to 8 screens). The last two screens are for development purposes only.
