Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by fuel vapors igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling combustible gases and risk of injury caused by burns during and after operation of heater unit

Do not operate stationary heater, auxiliary heater or engine with heater booster in closed areas or when refueling. Allow heater unit to cool down after operation and wear protective gloves.

Remove left headlamp unit

Remove headlamp cleaning system

Remove front bumper

Pinch off coolant hoses (1, 2)

Detach circulation pump from heater bracket

Place circulation pump to side. Do not detach hoses.

Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Detach coolant hoses (1, 2) from heater connecting pipe

Collect escaping coolant in a clean vessel.

Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel.

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Detach fuel line (7) from heater

Seal fuel line with suitable plug

Slacken clamp (10) of exhaust line

Detach exhaust line from heater

Unplug 8-pin connector (11)

Unscrew bolts (3) and remove heater (5)

Install in reverse order

Danger!

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving off by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Start engine and bleed cooling and heating system.

Allow engine to warm up with alternating speeds for approx. 1 minute.

Top up coolant continuously up to top mark in the coolant expansion tank.

Switch off engine

Check for leaks on coolant hose connections

Check function of auxiliary heater

Remove/install heater unit
