Function
Location
The fuel quality sensor is located on the left on the fuel tank.
Structure
The fuel quality sensor consists of the following components:
Measuring cell in the flow pipe
Integrated NTC resistor
Function
Using a measuring cell consisting of an anode and a cathode the fuel quality sensor detects the relative conductivity of the gasoline ethanol mixture and the fuel temperature using an NTC resistor .
The relative conductivity is dependent on the mixing ratio of the different fuels and the fuel temperature.
The mixing ratio is detected by the fuel quality sensor and transmitted with a voltage signal to the combustion engine control unit.
The power supply of 5 V is realized by the combustion engine control unit.
NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient): the electrical resistance falls as the temperature rises (NTC thermistor).
