Remove paneling from extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2

Disconnect electrical connector from extinguishing agent tank 1 squib (R42x1) or electrical connector from extinguishing agent tank 2 squib (R42/1x1)

 To prevent the fire extinguishing system from being actuated, disconnect electrical connector on extinguishing agent tank 1 squib (R42x1) or electrical connector on extinguishing agent tank 2 squib (R42/1x1) as first operation step.



Disconnect extinguishing agent tank 1 pressure monitoring connector (S62/27x1) or extinguishing agent tank 2 pressure monitoring connector (S62/28x1)

 Do not remove extinguishing agent tank 1 pressure monitoring switches (S62/27) or extinguishing agent tank 2 pressure monitoring switch (S62/28) from extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2, because otherwise the tank could empty.



Remove extinguishing agent hose (2) from extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2

Loosen tensioning clamps (6) and remove extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2

Remove extinguishing agent tank 1 squib (R42) or extinguishing agent tank 2 squib (R42/1)

 Only when replacing extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2.

The extinguishing agent tank 1 squib (R42) or extinguishing agent tank 2 squib (R42/1) is not included in the delivery contents of the new extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2.

Checking

Check weight of extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2

 The gross weight must not deviate by more than 50 g from the printed-on weight. The extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2 is empty, when an approx. 5 mm long display pin (4) on the front of the valve cap (5) is visible or can be felt.



Clean

Clean extinguishing agent lines

 After removing the extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2, the extinguishing line system connected to it should be cleaned 

Clean fire extinguishing system

Fasten extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2 with tensioning clamps (6)

 The distance between the display pin (4) on the extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2 and the vehicle floor must be approx. 20 mm.

Connect extinguishing agent hose (2) to connection fitting on extinguishing agent tank 1 (1) or extinguishing agent tank 2

 Observe tightening instructions:

Assemble extinguishing agent tank 1 pressure monitoring connector (S62/27x1) or extinguishing agent tank 2 pressure monitoring connector(S62/28x1)

Check electrical system components for electrical continuity

 For this purpose:
Switch on ignition and switch back off.



After switching on the ignition, check the following system components for electrical continuity:

- Extinguishing agent tank 1 squib (R42) and extinguishing agent tank 2 squib (R42/1)

- Extinguishing agent tank 1 pressure monitoring switches (S62/27) and extinguishing agent tank 2 pressure monitoring switch (S62/28)

- Engine fire extinguishing system temperature sensor (B65) and rear fire extinguishing system temperature sensor (B65/1)

If the specified values are not achieved, the warning buzzer is activated by approx. 10 s. It is necessary to check the system components in a certain manner for troubleshooting:
