Move seat toward rear and remove side covers on center console (1)

Installation: Ensure that blower hoses are routed correctly.

Remove main battery switch

Vehicles with code (E30) Battery main switch, 1-pin.

Remove upper center console cover (2)

Disconnect electrical connectors at rear of cover

Only on vehicles with central locking and electrically adjustable outside mirrors.

Remove floor shift (3)

Model 461 with transmission 722.6

Disconnect transmission tunnel transmission wiring harness connector (X22/19)

Disconnect center console ground connection on body (4)

Disconnect connector 2 for center console (X29/9) and connector 1 for center console (X29/13)

Connector 2 for center console (X29/9) and connector 1 for center console (X29/13) are screwed.

Disconnect hose connections from battery compartment ventilation (5)

Remove airbag control unit

Unscrew bolts on center console (6)

Remove center console

Install in the reverse order

Connect diagnostic system, read out fault memory and delete if necessary
