Remove/install

Remove right air filter housing

Detach DPF differential pressure sensor with attached hoses from bracket

AR07.04-P-0012OGE

Disconnect electrical connection on DPF differential pressure sensor

Detach clamp (2) on connecting point to exhaust pipe (3)

 Pay attention to installation position of clamp (2).

 Installation: Replace sealing ring between catalytic converter diesel particulate filter unit (1) and exhaust pipe (3).

 Installation: Align components of the exhaust system before tightening the clamp (2) free of tension.

 Installation: Replace clamp (2).

 Screw/bolt, clamp for oxidation catalytic converter

Remove center and rear engine compartment paneling

Unscrew union nut for differential pressure lines (4) at the catalytic converter diesel particulate filter unit (1)

For vehicles except code M005(4MATIC)

 Union nut, pressure line to diesel particulate filter

Disconnect electrical connection for temperature sensor upstream of catalytic converter (B19/7) on oil pan top section bracket and expose electrical line

 The bracket is mounted on the oil pan top section.

Remove temperature sensor upstream of diesel particulate filter

Unscrew nut (5) of the elastomer bearing (6)

 Nut, mounting bracket to bracket

Detach clamp (7)

 Pay attention to installation position of clamp (7).

 Installation: Replace sealing ring between catalytic converter diesel particulate filter unit (1) and SCR catalytic converter (8).

 Installation: Align components for the exhaust system before firmly tightening screw connection free of tension.

Detach SCR catalytic converter (8) on rear engine support

 Screw/bolt, bracket for elastomer bearing for front exhaust system to rear engine support

Detach SCR catalytic converter (8) at body and press carefully somewhat to the side

For vehicles except code M005(4MATIC)

 Helper required.

 Screw/bolt, bracket for exhaust line/reinforcement to frame floor assembly

Remove SCR catalytic converter (8)

Carefully take out catalytic converter diesel particulate filter unit (1) downwards together with DPF differential pressure sensor

Detach elastomer bearing (6) at CAT DPF unit (1)

When replacing the catalytic converter diesel particulate filter unit (1).

 Nut, mounting bracket to oxidation catalytic converter

Clean

Remove combustion and corrosion residue at separating points

Install in the reverse order

Connect diagnostic system, read out fault memory and delete if necessary


