1 | Open engine compartment flap | ||
2 | Open left rear maintenance flap | ||
3 | Detach engine compartment paneling under the transmission | ||
4 | Remove seat row above the transmission maintenance flap | ||
5 | Open transmission maintenance flap in vehicle interior | ||
Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. | |
6 | Drain coolant from oil cooler (3) | To do this, unscrew drain plug on oil cooler (3) and collect coolant in a suitable container. | |
Installation: Screw in the drain plug on the oil cooler (3) and fill the cooling system: | |||

7 | Drain transmission oil from oil cooler (3) | To do this, unscrew the oil drain screw on the oil cooler (3) and collect the transmission oil in a suitable container. | |
Installation: Screw in the oil drain screw on the oil cooler (3) and correct the oil level in the transmission: | |||

8 | Detach all coolant hoses (1) from the oil cooler (3) | ||
9 | Detach all oil lines from oil cooler (3) | ||
10 | Detach both brackets of oil cooler (2) on transmission | | |

11 | Remove oil cooler (3) | If necessary collect oil which runs out in a suitable container. | |
12 | Detach both brackets of oil cooler (2) from oil cooler (3) | ||
13 | Install in the reverse order |
